Terms of Use

Math Salad Terms of Use

Effective date: October 3, 2026

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Math Salad, an educational math platform for students, parents, teachers, and authorized school staff. By creating an account, managing a student profile, assigning work, or using Math Salad, you agree to these Terms.

1. Adult-managed student access

Student accounts are intended to be created or managed by an authorized parent, guardian, teacher, school employee, or other responsible adult. Students are not intended to independently create accounts. The adult creating or managing a student profile represents that they have appropriate authority to do so.

2. Educational purpose

Math Salad provides math practice, assignments, progress views, teacher tools, parent tools, Live Assist, and related learning features. Math Salad is an educational support service and does not replace a school, teacher, individualized education plan, professional tutoring judgment, or other educational services.

3. Practice and schoolwork

Math Salad separates At-Home Practice from School Assignments. Practice may be used to recommend skills and identify strengths or areas needing work. School Assignment results may be used in teacher-facing progress and assignment reports. Users should review important academic decisions with the appropriate teacher or school.

4. Account security

Account holders are responsible for protecting passwords, PINs, and access credentials and for activity performed through their accounts. Do not share credentials with unauthorized users. Notify Math Salad promptly if you believe an account has been accessed without permission.

5. Acceptable use

You may not misuse Math Salad, interfere with its operation, attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts or systems, scrape or extract data in an abusive manner, upload malicious code, impersonate another person, or use the service in violation of applicable law.

6. Parent, teacher, and school responsibilities

Parents, guardians, teachers, and schools are responsible for using student information only for legitimate educational purposes and for providing notices, permissions, or consents required for their own use of the service. A teacher or school user must only access students they are authorized to support.

7. Live Assist and Help

Live Assist mirrors the Math Salad learning surface rather than the student’s entire device screen. Help requests are intended to connect a student with an authorized adult. During At-Home Practice, help is intended for the student’s authorized parent or guardian; during School Assignments, help is intended for the authorized teacher or school user.

8. Math Camera

Math Camera is designed to assist with reading and working through math problems. Recognition results can be imperfect. Users should verify scanned numbers, symbols, and expressions before relying on them.

9. Content and intellectual property

Math Salad, including its software, visual design, learning interfaces, original instructional materials, branding, and related content, is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Users may use the service for its intended educational purpose but may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, redistribute, or commercially exploit protected Math Salad materials except where expressly permitted by law or written agreement.

10. Availability and changes

Math Salad may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as the platform develops. We aim to keep the service available and accurate, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.

11. Third-party services

Math Salad may rely on hosting, security, authentication, content-delivery, analytics, or other service providers. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and policies where applicable.

12. Privacy

Use of Math Salad is also governed by the Math Salad Privacy Policy. Privacy, account-closure, export, and child-data requests may be available through the Privacy & Data controls associated with an authorized account.

13. Suspension or termination

Math Salad may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect students, users, the service, or other parties; investigate misuse; comply with law; or address a material violation of these Terms. Account holders may request account closure through available account controls.

14. Disclaimer

Math Salad is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Educational recommendations, progress indicators, OCR results, and automated guidance may contain errors and should be reviewed by an appropriate adult, teacher, or school when important decisions are involved.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Math Salad and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited.

16. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated as Math Salad develops. The effective date will be revised when material changes are made. Continued use after an updated version becomes effective constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.

17. Questions

Questions about these Terms may be submitted through the contact and account-support methods provided on MathSalad.com.
