Math Salad FAQ
Math Salad FAQ
Who is Math Salad for?
Math Salad is designed for students, parents, teachers, and authorized school staff. Student accounts are created and managed by an authorized adult rather than by the student independently.
What is the difference between At-Home Practice and School Assignments?
At-Home Practice is for skill building, confidence, and adaptive recommendations. It does not count toward classroom ranking or official assignment accuracy. School Assignments are teacher-assigned work and may appear in teacher progress and assignment reports.
Can a teacher see the problems a student completed?
Yes. For supported assignments, teachers can review the actual problems, the student’s answers, and available step history such as regrouping, corrections, and long-division work.
What happens when a student taps Get Help?
Math Salad routes help according to the learning context. During At-Home Practice, the help request is intended for the student’s authorized parent or guardian. During School Assignments, the help request is intended for the authorized teacher or school user.
Does Live Assist share the student’s whole screen?
No. Live Assist mirrors the Math Salad learning surface needed to help with the current problem. It is not general device screen sharing.
Does practice affect school accuracy?
No. Practice and school-work progress are stored separately so independent practice does not change school-assignment accuracy or classroom ranking.
How does Math Salad handle student privacy?
Math Salad uses adult-managed student accounts, authorization checks, and separate parent/teacher access. More detail is available in the Math Salad Privacy Policy and Account & Data Deletion pages.
Can I request deletion of a student profile?
Authorized users can request eligible child-profile deletion and other privacy actions. Student-related requests may require verification before an irreversible action is completed.
Does Math Salad replace a teacher?
No. Math Salad is an educational support tool. Important academic decisions should still be made by the appropriate parent, teacher, school, or education professional.
Is Math Salad finished?
Math Salad is being actively developed and tested. Features may change as the student, parent, and teacher experiences are refined.
